We concentrate mainly on red wines which otherwise would not be readily available in the UK. You can take advantage of our simple system; once a wine has been tasted and approved, we import the wine and charge you a 20% margin for the pleasure.
Two friends, Matt and Jonny, went exploring around South America. After many miles travelled and obstacles overcome we stumbled across Argentina. We fell in love with the culture, the food and the people but especially the drink as we could enjoy one of our favourite passions, red wine. We covered the breadth and width of the country trying all wine varieties from every region and varying altitudes. But we always kept going back to the same wines that stood out head and shoulders above the rest for its taste and rich flavours. We travelled to Mendoza in the West of Argentina to visit the bodega and find out why it is so good and how it is made.

The only problem we could find was that the wine was not available back in the UK, so we packed as many bottles as we could into our suitcases and rationed it over our remaining time travelling.
Back home and back to the daily grind of our regular jobs we noticed that we couldn’t find a match for our Argentinian beauty. We made the decision to turn our passion into a small business and share with everyone what we discovered.
And so that is how ‘BadBeak’ was started and we hope you enjoy our wines as much as we do.
The name, in case you were wondering, is the English translation of the French malbec. The grape varietal was considered a mere table wine until it reached its full potential in the Argentinian rich soils and climate.
“Argentinian wines of the highest quality – if we don’t love it you can’t buy it”
We set up BadBeak so that others can enjoy fine Argentinian wine, with the long-term outlook to take on more wines from around the region. Traditionally there is a mark up of at least 50% in the wine industry but with this buying group we are trying to reduce this significantly.
